Iran Attacks Balochistan: Pakistan to recall its ambassador

Iran Attacks Balochistan:Mumtaz Zahra Baloch says Pakistan will halt all high-level diplomatic contacts with Iran.

After Tehran’s forces launched missile and drone strikes on Panjgur on Wednesday, the Foreign Office (FO) declared that the nation is recalling its ambassador from Iran.

Pakistan condemned the strike, calling it an “unprovoked violation” of its airspace and warning Tehran of serious consequences. In a statement released late at night, the Foreign Office declared that the infringement of Pakistan’s sovereignty was totally intolerable.

Two “innocent children” were killed and three girls were injured in the attacks in the Panjgur district of Balochistan, which Tehran identified as bases for the militant group Jaish al-Adl.

“There is just no explanation for this unlawful act, which makes it entirely unacceptable. FO Spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch issued a brief statement, saying, “Pakistan reserves the right to respond to this illegal act, and the responsibility for the consequences will lie squarely with Iran.”

The spokesperson went on to say that Islamabad will stop all high-level diplomatic contacts with Tehran in response to the invasion of national sovereignty and that the Iranian ambassador to Pakistan, who is presently in Iran, will not be permitted to return.

We have passed this message forward to the Iranian authorities. Additionally, we have told them that Pakistan has chosen to recall its ambassador from Iran and that the ambassador of Iran, who is currently in Iran, might not return for the time being.”

Iran Attacks Balochistan Pakistan

A day after Iran’s elite Revolutionary Guards missile attacks targeted a “Israeli spy center” in Iraq and targeted Islamic State militants in Syria, Iranian state television said on Tuesday that missiles had targeted two bases of Jaish al Adl in Pakistan.

According to Tehrani media reports, “missiles and drones hit and destroyed these bases.” According to Iran’s Nournews, which is connected to the top security organization in the nation, the bases that were struck were situated in the region of Balochistan.

Pakistan, however, strongly protested with Iran and refuted Iran’s assertions that the strikes destroyed “terrorist hideouts.” According to the FO statement, “This breach of Pakistan’s sovereignty is totally unacceptable and may have serious consequences.”

The militant organization Jaish-al-Adl was founded in 2012 and has been based in the Sistan-Baluchistan province of Iran. Tehran claims that the group has locations in Pakistan across the border.

Since its founding, the group has claimed responsibility for multiple attacks on Iran’s security forces. The organization assassinated 27 security personnel in February 2019, which prompted the military and civil authorities in Iran to threaten Pakistan with grave consequences.

Even though there were channels of contact between the two nations, Tehran chose to go forward with this strike on Tuesday, which was a huge surprise.

Furthermore, on the fringes of the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, Switzerland, Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar met with the Iranian Foreign Minister on the day the strikes were initiated. The official representative of the Iranian president for Afghanistan was recently in Islamabad as well.

The statement restated Pakistan’s long-standing claim that all nations in the area were at risk of terrorism and that coordinated action was necessary to combat it.
